Hotels and Tourist Projects Eligible for Grants from The Junta de Andalucia

The Junta de Andalucia (the regional authority) has grants available to the tune of €250million euros for ecological tourist projects such as hotels to meet the combined criteria of encouraging tourism, supporting the construction industry, and investing in a more ecological economy. An Example Project We Are Currently Working On

This project offers luxury rural accommodation, outdoor, and camping facilities on a site at La Malahá, 15 minutes from Granada. There will be 50 individual chalets, with the possibility of expanding by a further 100, restaurants and other community facilities such as an enormous natural swimming pool or lake, tennis courts and so on.

The development is on “non urbanizable land” and as such the ecological philosophy, respect for the landscape, and sustainable architecture has been key to obtaining the support of the authorities and is key to the commercial success of the venture.

The development has already received approval by the different departments of the Junta de Andalucia and of the local authority. After a complex process of technical and bureaucratic procedures, successfully completed by our team, we expect to be developing out the master plan within a few months (ie early 2010).
